The Space
Amara is a four-bedroom bungalow envisioned as a home that feels deeply personal, grounded, and timeless. Designed by Space 9 with architecture and interiors working in complete harmony, the project celebrates material honesty through exposed RCC, brick, and natural stone. Natural light plays a central role throughout the home, while existing trees were consciously preserved, allowing the residence to grow organically from its surroundings and remain closely connected to nature.
The Ask
The client desired a home that felt warm, soulful, and truly lived-in rather than overtly luxurious. The brief focused on creating a space that balances strong architectural character with everyday comfort, emotional warmth, and individuality. The intention was to design a residence that feels timeless, functional, and deeply personal for the family.
The Journey
Planning revolved around thoughtful zoning and intuitive flow. The main living area was placed on the first floor to ensure privacy and separation from utility spaces. Earthy tones, layered textures, and tactile finishes ground the interiors, while a traditional hichko overlooking the lawn adds nostalgia and pause. Bedrooms were designed with distinct moods, and shared spaces were crafted to encourage connection.
The Result
Amara emerged as a soulful family home where comfort and quiet luxury coexist. From the cinematic home theatre to the handcrafted white marble puja room, every space reflects intention, craftsmanship, and a deep sense of belonging.
